A scriptwriter, set designer, director who combines various techniques, non-camera director, composer and inventor. He was born in 1941 in Nowy Sącz and died in 1987. He is the older brother of Ryszard Antoniszczak (Richard Antonius). In 1965 he graduated from the Painting and Graphic Arts Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków where he also attended the Animated Film Workshop headed by Kazimierz Urbański. He was a co-founder of the Studio of Animated Films in Kraków. He made his debut as a director in 1967 and from 1977 consistently worked on non-camera films (with the images drawn or painted directly onto film). He also experimented with non-camera sound. Julian Antonisz is the recipient of numerous festival awards and prizes.
