ANIMATEKA Festival

The International Animation Film Festival Animateka was established in Ljubljana in 2004 with the objective to improve the circulation and presentation of animated film production from Central and Eastern European countries. The main idea behind the festival is to create a platform where authors, producers, journalists, students and other audiovisual professionals can meet and exchange their ideas and experiences not only via screenings, but mainly through workshops, discussions and meetings organised during the festival. The important aim of our festival to become a relevant regional festival where selectors from western Europe and the rest of the world will be able to choose films of animation production from countries of a low capacity production, was fulfilled already after the second edition of the festival. Another very important point of our festival is to bring together artists from European Union countries and artists from countries that are still waiting to become members, and show their films in competition. We welcome all the artists to express their views and share their experience with the public and their colleagues at the discussions with the authors.
