Trnka Jiűí
Trnka was a graphic artist, illustrator, painter, sculptor, animator and director of animated puppet films. He graduated from the Prague School of Arts and Crafts and created a puppet theatre in 1936. He also worked as a set designer and illustrator of children’s books. After the war, Trnka established an animation unit at the Prague film studio. Internationally recognised as the world’s finest puppet animator of the Czech school he was often called the Walt Disney of the East.
