ILLUSTRATED LECTURES – Boguslaw Zmudziński – „Musical Inspirations of Animation” /70 min./
MUSICAL INSPIRATIONS OF ANIMATION
Music is an integral part of an animated film even though animation is a visual art. Many outstanding soundtracks are specifically made to order. The Canadian Normand Roger, a guest of last year’s “Etiuda&Anima 2009 festival”, is currently the world leader in the composition and development of sound effects for animated films. Artistic animations often use classical music from various periods not only to illustrate the film but also to use this music in order to be inspired by it or sometimes for it to narrate the film. Composers that are popular among the creators of animated film include Schubert, Satie, Mussorgsky, Corelli, Vivaldi, J. S. Bach, Ravel, Mahler and many more.
